Our Fundraising Campaign is Live!

The Collective has returned for its second summer of Shakespeare - this year with the appropriately titled: A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Our last performance was funded solely by our cast members and creative team, but this year we're kicking it up a notch - and to do so we need your help! We've partnered with Fractured Atlas to create a fundraising campaign and we have some big plans in the works. Additionally, as a company focused on supporting emerging artists and their work, we believe in the importance of compensating our collaborators for their time and talent. One third of all donations and proceeds will go back to our creative team and cast members - any contribution, large or small, goes a long way towards supporting the work of local artists.

Check out our fundraising page for more information about budget breakdowns and donation rewards! And don't forget to reserve yourself a ticket by emailing juneberrytix@gmail.com.

The Juneberry Collective is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the charitable purposes of The Juneberry Collective must be made payable to Fractured Atlas only and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Casting for "A Midsummer Night's Dream"

COMPANY: The Juneberry Collective. Lillian Wooten White and Katy Early, Co-Directors; Ridgewood, Queens.

PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION: Fairy quarrels rock heaven and hearts while amateur dramatists and lovesick youths stumble through the woods. Helenus pursues his love Demetrius, who is crushing on Helenus's best friend Hermia, who just eloped with Lysander to escape her father’s threat of death. Meanwhile, the Fairy King's efforts to restore his relationship induce the Fairy Queen to fall for a dramatist-turned-donkey. The plots converge as lovers, spirits and artists redefine the nature of a happy union.

For the second summer in a row, we will be rehearsing and performing in the backyard of a Ridgewood apartment! We are looking for nonunion actors who are excited about this play and the prospect of working with fellow emerging artists in a nontraditional space.

BREAKDOWN:

**The roles of Titania/Hippolyta, Hermia, and Helenus have already been cast.**

Puck - Oberon's right-hand; a fairy who is able to move seamlessly between worlds. Seeking differently abled actors. Unfortunately, the space is not wheelchair accessible. All ethnicities, all genders.

Oberon/Theseus - Oberon and Theseus will be double cast. Oberon is the King of the Fairies, and Titania's partner, while Theseus is the Duke of Athens and engaged to Hippolyta. All ethnicities, seeking a cis-male actor.

Nick Bottom - One of the mechanicals chosen to perform in a play for Theseus's marriage celebration. A leader in the group. Puck, doing Oberon's bidding, transforms Bottom into an ass, and Bottom ends up in Titania's bed in donkey form! When Bottom ultimately comes out of a transmogrified state, Bottom performs for the Athenian court as Pyramus with great confidence and flare. Particularly interested in female comedians. All ethnicities.

Demetrius - A young man of Athens, initially in love with Hermia and ultimately in love with Helenus! All ethnicities, seeking male actors.

Lysander - A young man of Athens, in love with Hermia. Lysander cannot marry her openly because her father, wishes her to wed Demetrius; when Lysander and Hermia run away into the forest, Lysander becomes the victim of misapplied magic and wakes up in love with Helenus. All ethnicities, seeking male actors.

Peter Quince/Fairy - A carpenter and the nominal leader of the craftsmen’s attempt to put on a play for Theseus’s marriage celebration. Double cast as a fairy. We are looking for folks with strong comedic chops for The Mechanicals! All ethnicities, all genders.

Francis Flute/Fairy - The bellows-mender chosen to play Thisbe in the craftsmen’s play for Theseus’s marriage celebration. Double cast as a fairy. We are looking for folks with strong comedic chops for The Mechanicals! All ethnicities, all genders.

Tom Snout/Fairy - The tinker who ends up playing the part of Wall in the play for Theseus and Hippolyta's wedding celebration. We are looking for folks with strong comedic chops for The Mechanicals! All ethnicities, all genders.

Snug/Fairy - The joiner chosen to play the lion in the craftsmen’s play for Theseus’ marriage celebration. We are looking for folks with strong comedic chops for The Mechanicals! All ethnicities, all genders.

Egeus - Hermia’s father. Strong-willed patriarch who threatens his daughter with death or a nunnery should she go against his wishes to marry Demetrius.
